Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our Manufacturing Services team. This critical role supports the Maintenance Engineering and Manufacturing Services functions by performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of manufacturing and production equipment. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical, electrical, and mechatronics background, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where equipment uptime is paramount.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and reactive maintenance on a wide array of manufacturing assets and production equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues, shifting seamlessly between electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, furnaces, PLCs).
- Utilize precision diagnostic instruments and analyze equipment data to guide maintenance strategies and implement corrective actions.
- Interpret and work from engineering documentation such as circuit diagrams, mechanical schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Collaborate closely with Production Teams to schedule and coordinate planned and corrective maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
- Support equipment commissioning, upgrades, and repairs in coordination with OEM engineers and internal Manufacturing Engineering staff.
- Document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and generate relevant reports and work orders.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing support for team members and new hires to promote cross-functional capability.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a hands-on maintenance technician or mechatronics role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, read schematics, and use diagnostic tools effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience operating or maintaining high-temperature or fluid-handling systems (e.g., furnaces, pumps) is highly desirable.
- Proficient with CMMS platforms and digital tools for maintenance tracking and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Certified General Electrician, ASE-Certified Auto Mechanic, or similar trade certifications are a plus.
