Senior Internal Auditor

Pay Range: $85,400-$140,900/year
Position Overview
An established financial services organization is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support audit operations related to life insurance products. This role applies a disciplined, methodical approach aligned with global internal audit standards and will work closely with audit leadership to evaluate risks, strengthen controls, and enhance compliance across business functions.
Collaborate with audit leadership to assess risk areas and evaluate internal controls.
Conduct and document detailed process walkthroughs to understand operational risks and control environments.
Assist in developing audit plans, workpapers, risk assessments, and identifying/reporting audit findings.
Support the preparation of audit reports and assist in presenting findings to senior leadership.
Evaluate compliance with internal policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Conduct operational, financial, and IT audits in line with professional standards.
Stay current with emerging audit standards, tools, and techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Analytical, independent thinker who is receptive to feedback and continuous improvement.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience with audit tools such as TeamMate is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
3–7 years of experience in internal or external audit, ideally within financial services or insurance.
CPA or CIA certification preferred, or willingness to pursue.
