Senior Information Governance Analyst

Pay Range: $95,000 – $120,000/year
Job Description:
A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Information Governance Analyst to lead critical client data governance initiatives across the firm. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing systems tied to ethical walls, Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), and broader client file security and compliance protocols.
The Senior Systems Analyst will play a hands-on role in implementing and automating workflows that protect sensitive information, partnering with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure alignment with firm policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards. This role blends technical expertise with strong operational and compliance insight.
The position reports to the Information Governance Manager – Data Governance & Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of client file governance, ensuring secure access controls, exception handling, and compliance with policy and client obligations.
System Implementation & Automation: Design, test, and implement automated workflows and technical solutions that support ethical walls, OCG compliance, and matter-level security.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Records, Privacy, Intake, and third-party vendors to deploy tools and ensure systems support evolving information governance needs.
Monitoring & Compliance: Audit system effectiveness, monitor policy compliance, and support remediation efforts in cases of unauthorized access or security breaches.
Technical Translation & Configuration: Translate OCG and ethical wall requirements into technical specifications and configure systems to meet governance and security standards.
Reporting & Metrics: Build dashboards and reports to inform leadership, track compliance, and support governance strategy.
Documentation & Training: Create SOPs, user documentation, and training resources for internal teams; ensure processes are clearly defined and consistently followed.
Change Management & Testing: Participate in system upgrades, UAT (user acceptance testing), and change management processes to maintain system stability and compliance.
Incident Support & Special Projects: Assist with incident response, including investigations and remediation, and support new initiatives as assigned.

This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite in the Boston office and allows remote work up to 2 days per week.
Professional certifications in records or information management are a plus.
