Senior Controls Engineer

Pay Range: $51.00-$64.00/hour

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of advanced safety-critical control systems for mission-critical platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of systems engineering, controls, and safety assurance, shaping solutions that meet the highest regulatory and performance standards.

As a key contributor, you will collaborate across disciplines to define requirements, integrate systems, and support certification of regulated products—all while working with leading-edge technologies in the gas turbine and aerospace domains.

Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customers to develop system safety and reliability work products, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), and Common Cause Analyses (CCA).
• Contribute to the requirements definition process for electrical, electronics, and mechatronics control systems.
• Support systems integration and system certification activities for regulated, safety-critical products.
• Prepare, review, and deliver engineering documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and process training to engineering peers and team members.
• Resolve complex technical challenges by leveraging both theoretical knowledge and practical engineering experience.
• Communicate complex engineering concepts and technical information clearly, concisely, and logically to diverse stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Engineering preferred) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR
• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with gas turbine systems.
• Background in requirements definition and systems engineering processes.
• Hands-on experience with systems integration across complex, regulated products.
• Experience supporting system certification within aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
• Prior involvement in the development of safety-critical software.
