Lab Technician

Pay Range: $22.50-$28.50/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Lab Technician to support mechanical testing and quality assurance activities. The ideal candidate will set up and conduct tests on production assemblies and equipment, ensure proper calibration of systems, and assist in maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical tests using a variety of laboratory equipment to evaluate production assemblies and units.
- Set up test apparatus and execute tests following established methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
- Lay out and assemble units for production equipment according to design specifications.
- Adjust, calibrate, and modify equipment as needed to maintain optimal performance.
- Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed.
- Utilize hand tools, small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices to perform job duties accurately.
- Monitor and verify product quality in accordance with statistical process controls or other quality procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of tests, observations, and equipment modifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to support process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical testing, calibration, and lab equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Proficient in using hand and small power tools, measuring instruments, and lab testing devices.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and statistical process control methods.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
