Senior Preconstruction Manager
Bridgewater, MA
Pay Range: $110K – $150K/year
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction planning and execution for diverse projects across residential, senior housing, affordable housing, hospitality, life sciences, corporate, educational, and retail markets. This role will be partnered closely with Project Executives, Estimators, and field operations teams to ensure projects are set up for success from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed preconstruction schedules and logistics plans
- Support estimating and buyout processes
- Create and implement field procedures, including staff training
- Mentor and guide field staff to support career growth
- Manage and support preconstruction team members (coordinators, engineers, estimators)
- Review and validate estimates, identify key scopes, and coordinate qualifications
- Oversee subcontractor relationships and monitor market conditions
- Lead buyout process with Project Managers
- Prepare schematic, conceptual, and sitework estimates
- Coordinate across departments to deliver complete packages to owners
- Participate in all preconstruction meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow-up
- Drive value engineering, systems studies, and comparative cost analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 10–15 years of construction management/preconstruction experience
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Proven leadership, mentorship, and subcontractor/vendor management experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
