Job Description
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector performs inspections on rail car parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies to ensure they meet quality and engineering standards. This role includes visual inspections, use of precision measuring tools, and accurate documentation of findings. The inspector must read and interpret engineering drawings and be proficient across all inspection phases.
Inspect parts, equipment, and assemblies for compliance with quality standards.
Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Identify non-conformances and verify correct installation of components.
Follow engineering drawings, procedures, and instructions.
Document inspection results with accuracy and detail.
Work independently and perform final rail car inspections.
Minimum 2 years of QC inspection experience.
Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
Proficient in English; familiarity with Metric measurement preferred.
Able to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 40 lbs.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
