Senior Radar Engineer

Salary: $180K/year
Seeking a highly skilled Senior Radar Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in radar system design, digital signal processing (DSP), RF systems, and FPGA development.
Key responsibilities are to lead design enhancements of our state-of-the-art radar systems, including development of signal processing algorithms for detection and classification of targets, RF system architecture, and integration of RF, digital, and software components.
Required Qualifications
• The candidate must hold an advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Electrical Engineering or similar field with 10+ years of relevant experience
• Extensive experience in the design and development of radar algorithms capable for real-time hardware implementation
• Experience in RF system architecture and design for radar systems
• A proven track record in system integration, from concept to production
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain advanced scientific concepts to customers and stakeholders
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in any of the following are preferred:
• Expertise in Signal Processing including Fourier Analysis, FFT implementation, FIR design, IIR design, convolution, time shift, frequency shift, and duality.
• Familiarity with radar concepts such as Pulsed Doppler, Moving Target Indicator, Stretch, Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) subsystems.
• Familiarity with the detection of signals in noise, statistics (Gaussian, Rayleigh, Rice, Best Linear Unbiased Estimator, convolution property)
• Familiarity with linear algebra (SVD, QR), least squares estimation, Newton’s method, and numerical methods (numerical stability vs complexity).
• Embedded software architecture and design for real-time signal processing systems
• Familiarity with Xilinx Multiprocessing SoCs
• Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA development tools, i.e Vivado, Vitis, System Generator, Model Composer
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
