Assistant (General) Manager

Pay Range: $55K-$62K/year
Job Description:
As an Assistant General Manager, you’ll work alongside the General Manager to lead all front-of-house operations and support back-of-house excellence. You are a hands-on, service-driven leader who thrives in a refined yet energetic environment. From floor leadership to financial performance, team development to guest satisfaction—you’ll help shape the experience that defines our restaurant.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily restaurant operations and assume full leadership responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager, consistently setting the standard for service, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Ensure every guest receives exceptional hospitality and a memorable dining experience; respond promptly and gracefully to any concerns or service challenges.
- Work a full-time, on-site schedule averaging 50 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure hands-on leadership and real-time problem-solving during peak service hours.
- Manage labor, inventory, and cost controls while utilizing P&L statements and performance data to optimize results.
- Lead pre-shift huddles, train new team members, and coach staff on service standards, communication, and accountability.
- Ensure consistent brand experience across all shifts, upholding company standards in food quality, service, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Support hiring efforts and develop a culture of excellence by mentoring current and future leaders.
- Uphold the highest standards for cleanliness, safety, and compliance with local health regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Implement and oversee a preventative maintenance plan to ensure all equipment and dining spaces remain in peak condition.
- Serve as a key liaison between team members and upper management, ensuring transparency, performance alignment, and guest-focused decisions.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of leadership experience in a full-service restaurant or upscale hospitality setting
- Demonstrated experience with labor planning, inventory management, and financial accountability
- Dynamic leadership style rooted in positivity, service, and collaboration
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building abilities
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality in all aspects of the guest and employee experience
- Familiarity with POS systems and business software; proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- ServSafe® or Food Handler Certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire)
