Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful execution of commercial multi-family construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. Working closely with the Project Manager and site team, the APM helps manage schedules, budgets, subcontractor relationships, documentation, and coordination efforts. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and driven individual looking to advance in the construction industry.
Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of multi-family construction projects (typically 50+ units)
Support the Project Manager in creating and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and change orders
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and consultants
Track submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings to ensure timely responses and approvals
Assist with procurement of materials and long-lead items
Monitor and document project progress through daily reports, photos, and logs
Attend project meetings and record/distribute meeting minutes
Maintain organized project documentation (contracts, insurance, permits, etc.)
Support with punch list generation and project closeout processes
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
1–3 years of experience in construction project management (multi-family preferred)
Knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and budgeting
Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus
Experience working on projects $10M+
Familiarity with building codes, inspection processes, and permit procedures
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to grow and learn from senior staff
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
