Construction Manager – Solar Projects

Pay Range: $60.00-$66.00/hour
Description:
MUST HAVE SOLAR EXPERIENCE
We are seeking a skilled Construction Manager to lead renewable energy construction projects, delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government, and commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily construction, administrative, and technical management of renewable energy projects.
Assist the Senior Project Manager with project accounting, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, quality management, and internal communications.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies, including revenue recognition and project setup rules. Serve as a liaison between the business office and operations.
Manage customer relationships, service, and contractual obligations.
Support Engineering and Development teams in project design, scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation, and scheduling.
Monitor project performance and costs to forecast estimates through to completion.
Review subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure scope, schedule, and timely delivery.
Manage vendors and subcontractors to maintain quality, on-time delivery, and budget adherence while exceeding customer expectations.
Directly supervise construction managers (site supervisors) as assigned.
Maintain and update project schedules, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding items. Provide detailed two-week look schedules for customer coordination.
Assist with project expenditures and job cost accounting, including documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting, and tracking.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and customer/jurisdictional requirements.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction project management, focusing on renewable energy projects, especially PV (solar).
Preferred Qualifications:
Progress toward or completion of engineering, technical, or industry-related education.
Experience with energy efficiency disciplines such as digital energy control systems, variable frequency drives, high-efficiency motors, central plant chiller/boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty/service management.
Proven knowledge of OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
Strong verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
