Electrical Designer

Pay Rate: $50.00/hour
Job Description:
- Create technical documents and specifications, such as the development of schematics, combined wiring diagrams, termination drawings, panel board schedules, etc.
- Check and verify design drawings for compliance to applicable specifications.
- Review interdisciplinary documentation (i.e. Mechanical P&IDs) to determine/validate electrical interface requirements.
- Review supplier drawings and design documents and successfully translate these to the appropriate design deliverables.
- Use company and project standards to independently identify and develop wiring design documentation for electrical power, control, and instrumentation wiring.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Post-secondary education Diploma, Certificate, or 2-year Degree from a recognized Engineering Technical Program in good academic standing or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Willing to travel domestic and/or internationally for a couple of weeks, at a time, to support client meetings and temporary assignments as needed
- Candidate must meet the criteria for access to the company’s, partners’ and clients’ technologies
- Proficient in the use of Microstation and/or AutoCAD Electrical 2020 or equivalent
- A thorough knowledge of drafting principles and standards to enable checking and verification of design drawings for compliance to applicable specifications.
- Basic knowledge in the creation of technical documents, such as the development of schematics, combined wiring diagrams, termination drawings, panel board schedules, etc.
- Basic knowledge of electrical power, control and instrumentation design; ability to review interdisciplinary documentation (i.e. Mechanical P&IDs) to determine/validate electrical interface requirements
- Capable of reviewing supplier drawings and design documents to be able to successfully translate these to the appropriate design deliverables.
- Basic knowledge in the creation engineering design packages and the generation and/or review of Wire and Cable schedules
