Pay Range: $24.59/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented ESS (Environmental Stress Screening) Test Technician to support engineering qualification and production validation efforts through the execution of environmental and operational testing. In this role, you will perform moderate to highly complex environmental tests on electronic components, assemblies, and subassemblies, while supporting Engineering and Production teams in ensuring product reliability, quality, and performance.
The ESS Test Technician plays a critical role in the setup, operation, and monitoring of vibration and thermal cycling equipment, working independently on standard test activities and assisting senior technicians with advanced testing initiatives.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor environmental test equipment to conduct vibration, thermal, and related environmental stress tests.
- Support Engineering and Production teams by preparing test systems and executing test plans in accordance with established procedures and instructions.
- Configure and utilize monitoring and control instrumentation, including: Temperature measurement systems (thermocouples, data loggers), Vibration control systems and accelerometer instrumentation, Pressure and airflow measurement equipment, and Automated test stands and electronic test instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), logic analyzers, and similar devices
- Execute simulated environmental tests by following standard test methods, engineering procedures, and verbal instructions as required.
- Collect, process, and compile test data into complete and accurate data packages, including quality metrics and defect documentation.
- Maintain detailed test logs and records, ensuring traceability and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Assist higher-level technicians with complex test setups and troubleshooting activities as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment while adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Direct hands-on experience working with Unholtz-Dickie or similar vibration systems in support of engineering qualification testing.
- Experience developing and executing vibration profiles.
- Hands-on experience with Thermotron or equivalent thermal cycling chambers.
- Basic computer proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and work effectively from written and verbal instructions.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude with a strong interest in hands-on testing environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams.
