Pay Range: $38.00-$42.33/hour
Job Description:
This role is responsible for providing engineering production support for transition of new design to production and resolution of issues encountered in the build process for production designs. Generates new designs and solutions to meet technical, cost and schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate root-cause analysis of design issues arising during production and develops the associated.
- Work closely with a team of engineers and other specialty engineers to resolve issues that span the structures, ballistics, mechanical and logistics disciplines.
- Prepare presentations and variance documentation in response to production non-compliance issues to support vehicle sales. Perform trade studies or tolerance stack analyses during investigation support.
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
- Create and edit CAD models in PTC Creo and ensure systems are designed for producibility. Design and analyze welded and bolted joints. Use finite element analysis tools and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Provide input to project leaders for development of project plans, schedules, and budges and ensure tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirement
Required Qualifications:
- Experience doing root-cause-corrective-action. Knowledge of FEA and GD&T. Experience using CREO or SolidWorks CAD tools.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and integrating technology into combat vehicles.
- Experience with solid modules and mechanical designs using CAD systems, preferably PTC Pro-E, CREO, or SolidWorks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical presentations.
- Experience with drawings, models and GD&T standards and application

| Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related degree (e.g. Aerospace Engineering) and 2 to 6 years of engineering work experience. |

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced with tolerance analysis, trade studies, FEA analysis.
- Experience with design of structures or vehicle applications in the defense industry.
- Experience communicating with customers.
- Experience with military standards and good manufacturing practices.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
