Project Manager

Pay Rate: $40-$60/hour
Position Summary
The Project Manager oversees the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and execution of specific projects to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and goals. This role involves managing internal resources and coordinating efforts across business stakeholders and third-party consultants to deliver projects within defined timelines and budgets.
The Project Manager will direct multiple projects across various methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, or Hybrid. The successful candidate will be responsible for adopting and adapting project management frameworks based on the specific context of the project, overseeing quality control, and maintaining transparent communication regarding project health.
Core Responsibilities
- Leadership & Methodology: Demonstrate competency in leadership and Agile Scrum. Adopt and adapt project management methods (predictive vs. adaptive) as required by the initiative.
- Project Lifecycle: Define, document, and successfully complete assigned projects while maintaining effective change control, risk management, and testing processes.
- Financial & Resource Management: Monitor project time, revenue, and capital costs against budgets. Manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate with Solution Managers to ensure appropriate staffing.
- Vendor & SOW Management: Drive vendor selection via established RFP processes and manage Statement of Work (SOW) activities as needed.
- Agile Facilitation: Act as a coach to enable excellence in Agile development. Manage sprint velocity-related metrics and lead all Scrum ceremonies (daily huddles, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives).
- Strategic Collaboration: Assist Product Owners in shaping product roadmaps and visions while promoting joint accountability for problem-solving.
Skills & Qualifications
- Methodology Expertise: Proven experience in Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, and Hybrid methodologies.
- Technical Proficiency: Practical experience managing agile development projects, including techniques such as User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration/Testing, and Automated Testing.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to elicit cooperation from upper management, clients, and cross-functional departments.
- Conflict Resolution: Strong ability to facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Ability to support on-call or after-hours work as required.
Technical Knowledge
- Standard Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook).
- PM Software: Experience with PPM and Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Wrike, Clarity, Rally).
- Technical Literacy: Basic understanding of digital platforms, cloud applications, web services, and APIs.
Education & Experience
- Required: BA/BS in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, including a minimum of 2 years specifically in an Agile environment.
- Preferred Certifications: PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
