Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support its Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business, overseeing vehicle and hardware deliveries for the Bradley A4E1 Program. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project schedules, and ensuring contract deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative project leader who thrives in a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment and enjoys driving complex programs from planning through execution. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers while ensuring operational excellence and successful program execution.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program management to achieve program objectives and contract deliverables.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project schedules that consolidate multiple projects and contractual requirements.
- Manage the flow of vehicles, hardware, and critical materials into the production facility to support on-time program execution and customer deliveries.
- Monitor project performance, schedules, budgets, risks, and milestones while proactively identifying and resolving issues that may impact project success.
- Present project status, schedules, risks, and performance updates during internal leadership reviews and customer technical/program meetings.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders, fostering strong working relationships while coordinating activities across multiple locations and time zones.
- Evaluate project performance against customer expectations and program objectives, developing corrective action plans when necessary to improve schedule, cost, or quality performance.
- Support financial performance by managing assigned projects within established cost, schedule, profit, cash flow, and risk parameters.
- Track key performance metrics and utilize project data to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all assigned deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of six (6) years of project management or related program leadership experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders within a complex technical or manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing project schedules while managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate project status to customers, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating project planning, execution, monitoring, and project controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project (or similar scheduling software).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and geographically dispersed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, military vehicle, heavy manufacturing, or complex government programs.
- Knowledge of integrated program scheduling, earned value concepts, or contract-driven project environments.
- Experience managing hardware, production, or manufacturing-focused projects.
- Familiarity with risk management, continuous improvement, and cross-functional program execution.
