Pay Range: $70K-$95K/year

Job Description:

The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Assurance (QA) program for assigned railcar projects. This role ensures compliance with technical specifications, leads quality planning and audits, and serves as the primary liaison between the  QA team, customers, and suppliers.

Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Master Test and Inspection Plans, and Audit Procedures.
• Monitor and report on project quality performance, identifying issues and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments to resolve quality concerns.
• Manage QA activities and schedules across production, acceptance, warranty, and modification phases.
• Review and approve QA documentation, inspection reports, and supplier/subcontractor quality records.
• Oversee compliance with customer specifications and ISO 9001 standards.
• Support audits, configuration management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attend project and customer meetings, providing regular quality updates and reports.
• Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the rail, transportation, or manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes, including FAI, Source Inspection, FMEA, and ISO 9001.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in both office and field environments.
