Position Summary
The Systems Integration Engineer I is an entry-level engineering position within the railroad industry. The role involves exposure to various aspects of railcar engineering across multiple phases of projects, including field work. The initial assignment will focus on the Engineering Test Equipment group, supporting ongoing projects.
Analyze assigned engineering topics, plan solution paths, and coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering tasks for resolution.
Evaluate and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, test procedures, reports, and technical proposals.
Develop and maintain asset management documentation.
Draft and manage official correspondences, track project progress, solicit actions from suppliers and customers, and coordinate resolutions.
Prepare technical meeting minutes and monitor action item follow-ups.
Participate in project meetings, testing events, and related activities.
Provide support during on-site testing, troubleshooting, and field modifications.
Collaborate with other departments to address engineering-related matters during all project and manufacturing phases.
Perform other engineering duties as delegated by management.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
1–5 years of engineering experience preferred
Practical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effective schedule and task management abilities.
Proactive problem-solving approach for technical and non-technical challenges.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Commitment to completing long-term projects spanning multiple years.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business.
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as required.
English/Japanese bilingual proficiency (verbal and written) is a plus.
Strong interest in the rail industry and railcar technology.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
