Pay Range: $23.00-$29.00/hour
Job Description:
The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and mechanical assembly work in support of manufacturing operations. This role requires expertise in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and the mechanical aptitude to assemble parts and sub-assemblies with precision. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on various metals in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS) qualification process.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and written or verbal work instructions.
- Produce high-quality welds that meet AWS standards and pass all required qualification tests.
- Prepare, refine, and finish metal surfaces to required specifications.
- Assemble parts, components, and sub-assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform mechanical operations related to the production and assembly of large manufactured structures.
- Apply strong mechanical aptitude to ensure accurate and efficient assembly work.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and protective equipment requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Identify and report equipment issues, material shortages, or process concerns.
Required Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of welding experience preferred; relevant trade or technical school training may be considered in place of experience.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on multiple metal types.
- Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and follow technical instructions.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficient in the English measurement system and willingness to learn the Metric system within a defined timeframe.
- Capable of working in an active manufacturing environment, including lifting/pushing/pulling at least 40 lbs.
