Technical Editor/Writer (DoD/Secret Clearance)

Overview:

USPRO is looking for a proven Technical Editor/Writer to work with a client of ours in the Lexington, MA area. This individual will provide editorial support for technical and administrative content in the form of print and digital deliverables, including procedures, technical reports, specifications, award nominations, conference materials, web pages, and other documentation supporting operational initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides editorial support for technical and administrative content in the form of print and digital deliverables, including procedures, technical reports, specifications, award nominations, conference materials, web pages, and other documentation supporting operational initiatives
  • Creates, edits, and produces user-friendly content in coordination with subject matter experts and project teams
  • Supports staff in the preparation and editing of technical reports, manuals, and papers
 
 
Qualifications:

Skills: Required (Must Have)

  • Publishing: FrameMaker, Word, Acrobat, LaTeX, TeXnicCenter,
  • Graphic Design: Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint
  • Online Help Development: WebWorks, FrontPage, RoboHelp, Dreamweaver, HomeSite
  • Project Management: Microsoft Project
  • Version Control and Issue Tracking: ClearCase, TRUEchange, SourceSafe, Git, JIRA


Education/Professional Certifications:

BS plus 5 years minimum experience. Additionally, the candidate will preferably have Technical Communications Certifications in the following areas:

  • Computer Programming/Software Development
  • Computer Programming/Systems Analysis
  • Software Technical Writing


 


 
Additional Notes:
  • Familiarity with DoD Markings
  • Familiarity with R&D/STEM content
  • Active Secret Clearance is required
